Our Journey

Celebrating 25 Years

We celebrated our 25th anniversary with a Silver Jubilee event on February 26th at the Manekshaw Centre Ashoka Hall in Delhi. Founded with the mission of transforming job seekers into job creators, we have dedicated the last quarter-century to fostering entrepreneurial skills, particularly among army veterans and underserved communities. The Silver Jubilee event highlighted the achievements of over 25 army veteran entrepreneurs who successfully transitioned to business ownership after participating in our comprehensive training and mentorship programs. A key component of our success is our collaborative partnership with the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV), formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership facilitates the establishment of Business Incubation Centres (BICs) at Army locations across India.

The event was graced by Lt. Gen. Ranjeet Singh, Director General of Discipline, Ceremonial, and Welfare, who served as the Chief Guest. He recognized over 25 Indian Army veterans who successfully embarked on their entrepreneurial journeys after training with I Create. This acknowledgment emphasizes the organization’s commitment to supporting the approximately 60,000 veterans who retire from the Indian Army each year, helping them channel their discipline, commitment, and risk-taking abilities into successful entrepreneurship.

Reflecting on 25 years of I Create, Mr. Harsh Bhargava, Founder, stated, “In a nation where millions enter the job market facing too few opportunities, I Create has spent 25 years combating India’s employment crisis through entrepreneurship. What began as a modest center in Jaipur has evolved into a national movement transforming lives across India. Starting with one Business Incubation Center (BIC) for training army veterans, the number has grown to seventeen as of February 2025.

These BICs operate in a Public-Private Partnership mode between DIAV, corporate sponsors and foundations, and I Create. Establishing and operating Army BICs is the flagship program of I Create. Our army veterans apply battlefield courage to business challenges, our women entrepreneurs revolutionize entire communities, and our youth reject dependency to become job creators. As we celebrate this Silver Jubilee, we honor the economic freedom fighters who are reshaping India’s future, one business at a time.”

Major highlights of the celebration included the unveiling of our coffee table book and a video documenting I Create’s journey, featuring testimonials from various stakeholders. This included letters from the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans, the Adjutant General, and donors such as HCL Foundation, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Allianz, The Hans Foundation, and IndusInd Bank, as well as success stories from entrepreneurs created through the Army Centers.

The 25-year celebration also featured the launch of a book authored by I Create’s Chief Mentor, Ulhas Kamat, a prominent figure in entrepreneurship development. This handbook aims to provide practical guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs, reflecting I Create’s mission of fostering sustainable business ventures.
