In the humble lanes of Sakrawal, where the clatter of handlooms has echoed for generations, young Khush Naseeb Ahmad grew up watching his father's patient hands transform simple threads into works of art. Their small workshop, though modest in size, wove not just sarees but the dreams and dignity of a middle-class family of six. As the youngest of the siblings, Khush Naseeb witnessed both the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and the struggle to sustain it. While his father's handloom sang its daily song of survival, Khush Naseeb’s heart answered a different call. Inspired by the young men of his village donning uniforms, he chose to serve the nation, transforming from a weaver's son into a soldier. For seventeen years, his uniform became his second skin, and his service gradually lifted his family from the edges of hardship to the warmth of stability. But even as he served across India's frontiers, the distant whisper of the looms never left his heart. Unlike many soldiers who face the void of uncertainty upon retirement, Khush Naseeb carried a precious inheritance – the knowledge of an art that had sustained his family for generations. When July 2023 brought his final salute, he already knew his next mission: to revolutionize his father's legacy.
Every lesson was a golden thread in his tapestry of transformation – from understanding break-even points to mastering the art of modern marketing.
Returning home with newfound knowledge, Khush began his own revolution in the family workshop. The initial investment of 2.5 lakhs grew to 10 lakhs as ancient handlooms gave way to modern machinery. Yet, the soul of the craft remained intact. Where once stood a single manual loom now hummed seven machines, each preserving tradition while embracing progress. The workshop that once struggled to survive now orchestrates a monthly symphony of success, conducting sales of three to four lakhs.
Today, the workshop is a bridge between generations. His father's guiding wisdom merges with his training and business acumen. Five employees now share in this legacy, their livelihoods woven into the fabric of his success. His wife maintains their home while their two young children, studying in fourth and fifth grade, grow up watching their father blend tradition with innovation, just as he once watched his own father at work.
The lessons learned in the I Create training programme have become his weapons in the battlefield of business – precise accounting, strategic promotion, and market analysis now complement the artistry inherited from generations past. Each saree and traditional dress that leaves his workshop carries not just threads and designs, but the story of a family's resilience, a soldier's discipline, and an entrepreneur's vision.
