From Boots to Roots: The Fight for Liberty, Justice and Equality

In the heart of rural India, where the golden wheat fields stretch to the horizon, a soldier's courage has taken root in unexpected soil. Havildar Davinder Singh, who once defended our borders, now fights a different battle— one against the financial struggles of his fellow farmers.Standing in his village, watching farmers grapple with the crushing weight of equipment costs during harvest seasons, Davinder felt the same call to serve that had drawn him to the Army years before. The sight of his neighbours' weathered faces, etched with worry about affording crucial harvesting equipment, stirred the warrior spirit within him.

December 2023 marked a turning point. While visiting BEG and Centre, Roorkee, for pension paperwork, fate led Davinder to an entrepreneurship awareness program offered by I Create India. The workshop provided essential training for starting a business, including business planning and execution, calculating variable costs, cash flow and break-even points.

With methodical discipline and detailed mentoring inputs from I Create, Davinder spent a full year meticulously planning his business, ensuring all aspects were thoroughly addressed before launching in December 2024. With unwavering determination and his life savings of Rs. 35 lakhs— a testament to his years of service— Davinder launched his Farm Equipment Rental Services.

His business model was to hire out high-demand equipment such combined harvesters and tractors on a pay-per-use basis, saving farmers the need to invest in costly equipment. The impact was immediate and profound, bringing modern technology within reach of those who needed it most. Fields that once waited days for mechanized farming now hummed with efficiency.

Farmers who had struggled under the burden of equipment costs found relief in Davinder's pay-per-use model. Each rice and wheat cultivation season brought in substantial income of Rs. 5 lakhs.

But for Havildar Davinder Singh, the true measure of success isn't in rupees earned - it's in the grateful smiles of farmers who can now harvest their crops without falling into debt. His dreams stretch as vast as the farmlands before him - dreams of expanding his services, of reaching more farmers, of proving that a soldier's duty to serve never truly ends.
